Finally decided on this evil little tier 6 tank destroyer by afv club, looks a nice detailed kit and a fairly simple build hopefully even given the partial interior.

I fancy a TD myself, nearly bought a M10 at a little model shop this morning. Good luck with the build.

Cheers Stokesy, progress has so far been easy and rapid, everything fits spot on so far with zero flash or seam lines. Started to paint the interior also enjoying my new favourite pin wash brush, the long bristles hold plenty of wash whilst the small point allows for precision placement and good flow.

Looking good. I reckon that interior is going to be superb.

I bought that M10 by the way so I'll be getting into the SIG as soon as it arrives!

Some way further into the build, interior was finished off with a pinwash and some pigments and a silver watercolour pencil to pick out the high points on the diamond plate floor. Everything still just fitting together, no fettling or adjusting required.

Very nice. What calibre is the main gun? Is it a 76?

Not entirely sure, either 76 or 90 but more likely the 76, not sure if the 90 is just a w.o.t. option, be better with a bl10 although firing one of those in a hellcat would probably destroy both tanks!

Assembly finished, absolutely zero dramas, could get used to kits that actually fit together! Also primed, given a coat of chipping colour, hairsprayed and top coated.

Glossed, decalled, reglossed, pinwashed and flat coated.

Looking good mate - and thanks for your reply re the main gun's calibre, I didn't spot it previously.

Made a start on weathering with oils and pigments, looking to keep this fairly subtle.

Really sweet m18, wookiee. Is that the AFV clubs decals? If so. my Academy has the same kind, girl and all. Anyway real great looking build.

Yep, kit decals, although i mixed up the scheme a little to add more interest rather than have it historically accurate.

The Hellcat only used the 76mm in combat.

There were some experimental "super hellcats" with the 90mm, that never got beyond the testing stage. Academy(?) did a model of this. https://www.scalemates.com/kits/107478- ... er-hellcat
