Aftermarket: Hellcat-included kit pe Oscar-none
kit modifications: gear doors closed up on each kit, battle damage to the Oscar, all markings sprayed on the Oscar due to poor decal condition.

The Kamikaze attacks have always been interesting to me, not only did they show the desperation of the empire near the end of the war, but the absolute dedication of it's pilots...their leaders were truly unworthy of their honor and sacrifice.



With all this in mind, I tried to keep the project tasteful, but real, and in the end it exceeded my vision for it at the start. I learned so much along the way and had a great time with this build. I've never done a water base before and was really at a loss of where to start. In the end I am glad I went with a calmer sea as I think it is probably more accurate. I think next time I would try to use some clear resin, for something this calm, but live and learn.

A Hellcat pilot has engaged and shot down a kamikaze near Luzon, Phillippines as the Allied naval task force operates in the Lingayen Gulf on 5, Jan 1945 and followed the Oscar down to ensure the kill. Many other pilots, however, were able to complete their objectives, and 24 ships were sunk and 67 others damaged before the end of the battle.
