Gentlemen,
I decided to give my eyes and shaky hands a break, and build something bigger than 1/48 scale. In your opinion, what is the best all around
1/32 scale BF109 Kit?
I read comments from several modelers on the internet that the Hasegawa 1/32 kit was to be avoided.
There is a significant cost difference among the kits, Revell being among the less costly (US$27), and Eduard Profipack among the highest (US$69).
I read commentary about Trumpeter, Cyber Hobby, Eduard, and Revell. The consensus was Cyber Hobby BF109E3 (#3222) for US$43 was the most
balanced kit, from the point of scale accuracy and fit of parts.
I like the Revell kit (BF109G-10 #04888) since it has ERICH HARTMANN markings, plus it is only US$27 on Amazon, US.
Would appreciate your opinion.
Thanks.
Warren

Hi Warren
Great choice of subject. Who doesn't love a 1/32 109?
I can't speak to all the manufacturers listed above but I made the Trumpeter 109G6 last year and it was a beauty of a kit. It fit together nicely, surface detail and interiors were excellent. Decals were great. It had a detailed engine which was nice but I buttoned up the fuselage as I wasn't planning to show it. Some nice PE (seat, harness, rudder pedals, canopy rims, armoured headrest) and it cost me £30.
I saw the F4 (Trop) at Cosford earlier this year and reasoning it would be as good as the G I snapped it up for £27. I haven't started it yet but its a similar set up to the G judging by what's in the box.
You can check out all the kits on Scalemates and look at the age of them and any attached reviews to help you with your choosing. Have fun!

In e variants the dragon offering is supposed to be the most accurate, I've built it and its a good kit apart form an issue with having the cowling closed and guns included

I've built Revell's 109 G-10 (04888) and it has no major issues, indeed it was a very enjoyable build

The Revell kits are very affordable, fun and look nice. The Dragon kits do things in a very fancy way and are also big fun and nicely detailed. Trumpeter is also an option, but i haven´t formed an opinion on that because i never saw a kit up close.

Gentlemen,
Thank you for your comments. I think I will try the Revell because I want to have a Hartmann aircraft, since he was the highest scoring fighter pilot in history, albeit mostly on the Russian front, and also the attractive cost.
Thank you again for your input.
Regards,
Warren

Daring statement.
