1/24 Ghostbusters Ecto-1 Finish Question

Hi all,

I'm currently working on a Ghostbusters Ecto-1 and I have a very nice gloss white coat on the body. I would like to seal that and I had some questions so as to not mess up that paint. I want to put a clear coat on the model now and I have some options and wanted to see what you recommend. I know this is all subjective but I figured I ask.

For the clear coat I have two options readily available;

Option 1
Tamiya clear X-22 that I can use through an airbrush. If I go this route, will I need to use any kind of thinner like X-20A?

Option 2
Krylon Crystal Clear Acrylic clear coat from a rattle can. Is this good for models and is acrylic a good finish option?

Also, what would be the best finish in your opinion?
