Tamiya XS1100LG midnight speaial

Post by Johnj »

This was my first choice but i forgot about the detail parts set. For the price of the kit they should come as part of the kit !

So the yamaha it is then. I've had this kit for several years and now seems a good enough time to get it done.

Don't waste that awesome PE, do the Yamaha it is pretty cool too
Almost all of my Tamiya is F1 with aftermarket decals and stuff, so I am stuck with a Re box F4

The main reason for the change of 'heart' was that the yamaha is primaraly gloss black. I just dont have anywhere clean enough for that. The last couple of attemps were with these two who look like they've been drifting through a cat litter tray all day !

You've got one hand tied behind your back with the F4 scott, i think i would have given up by now. I had never owned a tube of filler untill the airfix 109 caper ! I'm tempted to send you something over (call it a house warming present) but i've a feeling you wont have much time for another one ? Let me know though, it's a genuine offer :thumb1:

OH you have got my interest peaked now!!!!:
Fire away, I am game
Time is a killer for me for sure, but I have to admit I am enjoying al this on some level
My next undertaking is to learn with my boy how to do a special skate sharpening for his goalie skates
Will likely add this machine to my workshop

Yes ice skates.
He is at a level where he wants a very specific shape done into the blade and the guys who do it are an hour away and have screwed it up the last few times. Cedric is a cool kid and will research and learn how to do something...so get him the right tools and learn alongside.
Heck he might even have a little business of it in the future

He sounds like a bright kid :thumb1: theres a lot of truth in if you want something done right, you have to do it yourself !

Oh bud, you keep em. I have other Tamiya if the F4 needs to be tossed vs the wall
Gong to try the Vallejo putty trick and see if it is easier
A sig or GB will pop and match perfectly for ya. I really do appreciate the offer.
OR better yet, you can bring one over for a visit to Canada and we can work together in a new workspace :cheers2:
