putting up my first forum build, started the Revell JU87 Stuka several days ago, just getting round to putting the progress up.
this is my first 1/48 aircraft build, so wanted to start on a sale kit I picked up. Got three Stukas to build, so practicing on this one. Building it OOB
Kit looks ok at first glance, a bit of flash on the wing but very little else wear. A couple of lose pieces lying in the bag, but everything is there Not doing as the box art, but one based in Greece. also doing my first attempt of riveting

Cockpit finished then first attempt at riveting, not too bad for a first attempt, will get better with more practice

Finally got round to putting her all together, masked the canopy using masking film and Tamiya tape, that was fun all ready for the coat of primer now

Got this finished. A better kit than I thought it was going to be.
First attempt at painting the markings, pleased with the outcome of them. Takes much longer than decals but look better. Didn't do the swastika by hand, used after market decals

And you are right.... painted markings do look a lot better. May I ask wich masks you used for this?

I made the stencils myself, used stencil film on top of clear plastic then traced from decal sheet, a bit fiddly and time consuming but well worth the effort
