I can't breathe......in fumes!

Post by GilderLegend »

Can any one help me? I am looking at buying a respirator to wear whilst spraying. At the moment the spray paints used are Vallejo Model Air and Life Color i.e. no major nasties like Alklad/Hannants etc being used at present but maybe buying those ranges in the future.
I was looking at 3M and their 6000 "Classic Comfort" 1/2 Mask but will this be good enough? Already have the Bench Vent A300S Spray Booth which'll suck your eyes out of their sockets if you let it so am I being a bit OCD in needing a mask?

I use a Force 8 Half Mask Twin Respirator, I don't have a spray booth but I'd still use it even if I did, you only get one set of lungs!

Dunno what's near you (where do live on this planet?) but I found the 3Ms at my nearest hardware store.

A spray booth sucker outer is good, but the combo of mask and booth is best for your health and, I think, a requirement to using an airbrush. Atomized paint is no trifle.
