Currently my return to the hobby is two models started, zero finished. So for my very first group build I.am going all out with this little beauty.

Image

OK, it's not the biggest kit in the world as the below sprue shot shows...

Image

Above in the bag and for some greater detail here it is out of said bag in all its glory along with the decals.

Image

This is also my very first Tamiya build and I am impressed with the full colour instructions (even of they do fit on the back of the box)

Hopefully this is one that I can finish in the limited bench time I have. Anyways I'll fill in some more history etc and attempt to pad out this build thread as much as possible.
I could possible do a stop frame summation of it all going together with this number parts but I know my limitations all too well.

Anyways, thanks for your time and I look forward to seeing this one through to the end.

Well managed a bit of time to fling the multiple parts together. As this is my first Tamiya kit I am impressed with plastic, very little flashing or marks in general on the V-1. The dolly, however, I rushed and really should have sorted out seams etc much better.

Well here it is all primed and ready for paint. I should add that I used Tamiya extra thin, Tamiya fine spray can primer and some perfect putty filler.

Image

Not much filling to do other than the main seam which is a bit awkward due to the round nature of the missile and not wanting to flatten it off any where.

Cheers for looking

So time for some little bit of preshade, top...

And bottom....

I had got a little ahead of myself and put down a layer of base colour on the wings before I remembered to do the preshading - oops.

I still need a lot more practice on the airbrush control for fine lines.

Looks awesome! The preshading often has a better effect when its in rough lines anyway so it doesnt matter at all. Good luck with the rest of the build :th:

Well here we go, forgot to take pictures of paint and leapt straight into gloss coat and then decals. I have used. humbrol clear gloss thinned with Ultimate thinner. A few thin coats of this and let to dry overnight. Then for the decals I have tried micro set and micro sol. Used a brush and a cocktail stick to apply these. It was only after that I went a bought a couple of water brushes from the LHS as I had already had a couple of near misses with the pots being almost knocked over.

Well here it is. Needs a little bit if weathering then a matt coat - open to suggestions here. Then onto the dolly!

From the pictures you may have noticed the casualty in all this. The propeller had finally lost it. I have knocked this off and glued it back on countless times but this time the piece has finally escaped and is nowhere to be found.

Cheers for looking
