I'm in with the 1/48 Haseqawa RF-4E. I've ordered the rest of my resin bits to convert it to an IDF phantom. I'll be using Isradecals and painting it using Hataka paints

Cool project, if I may put in my two cents... I have had and heard others having bad experiences with Hataka paint (sets). Just a tip, don't want you to ruin the build at the end by having to use crappy paint.

As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.

Thanks, I have used them on several other projects, so far I have not had any issues yet, now having said that they'll screw up on this one

If they have been working you thus far you can probably perform CPR on these as well or at least revive the enough to go down like they should ;) I'll keep my fingers crossed for you.

That is the best kind :th:, but let us try and restrain ourselves from our usual banter here in this thread as it's a new members thread and it's his first SIG here on the forum.

We don't want to scare him off before the SIG has started right ;).

Cool, you heard the man. He's game. As I am one of the initiators of this SIG I went for the "better safe than sorry" approach. :th:

the obligatory sprue shots, and some of the resin bits, I was able to salvage the slated wings and the seamless intakes from previous builds that were damaged in a move. Just waiting on the exhaust and a couple of other bits now.

Good looking additions.
Looking forward to see what you think of the kit
I have two Hase's and a Fujimi waiting for the sig. Currently a Tamiya F4 underway...the latter is the Putty Pig as Lysus mentioned in another thread.
We will behave ourselves :shifty:

This is probably my 15th or 16th hasegawa kit over the years, they have been pretty good builds without any issues except for what I caused.

The cockpit is closed up and ready to be fitted to the fuselage but first I had to open some panels, I'm thinking of just opening one side though, I'll be mounting the photo bay and avionics in the next few days then the cockpit. I have decided not to go with the Hataka paints, going with a new brand called Bombshell Brew http://www.bsbrew.net/ a friend of mine has started these in the last couple of months so I'm going to give them a shot.

Last of the resin bits finally arrived, the photo bay and dropped flaps, now I can start getting the fuselage closed up.

:jd: WOW great detail on the interior of that aftermarket nose conversion kit. That will save a great deal of scratch building. Well worth addition to the build :th:

As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.

Great looking build Ilking. What detail set did you use for opening up the nose? I will be following with interest.

Cheers!

I have been working on a few other projects and have not been able to devote as much time as I had wanted to, but I have accomplished a bit. I thought I might try the paint on the backend so I wouldn't have to mask the aluminum and steel.
