The best sprue cutters

Hi there I am after some new sprue cutters I would like the best I can buy and was wandering what people's thoughts are on which one they think are the best and why.

For commonly available ones then the Xuron Pro Sprue Cutters are great. http://xuron.com/index.php/main/consumer_products/3/14

Harder to get hold of and more pricey are the gundam ones by God Hand, but these may be easier to get in Oz than the UK. Also rated are the Gundam Planet ones from the US gundam store.

They aren't cheapest but like everything you get what you pay for, they are very well made work a treat, Tamiya do a range of cutters.

I've got several of their tools all are excellent quality.

Im using the `Pro Xurons now Kev, much better than the tamiya i used to use imo

In my opinion its a toss up between the Xuron Pro and the Tamiya Sharp pointed cutter for the widely available ones. For the Expensive and hard to get ones its a toss up again between the Godhand and the Gundampla cutters.

As always happy modeling and keep sticking styrene.

Something to keep in mind, too, is that cutters come in various sizes and handle shapes. Sometimes the best cutter isn't the best cutter for you depending upon if you have nimble jeweler fingers or ham fists. Some have a finger stop/guard, some have wide grips, etc.

It's worth considering when you go shopping for a pair.

All that aside, I really like my Tamiya side cutters, and in the States at least the Gundam Planet (GP) cutters aren't that much more expensive than Tamiya and offer a blade and anvil set up like the over priced (IMO) GodHand.

But honestly the difference between most of the better cutters is just how much time you will spend cleaning up nubs afterwards. I wouldn't fret too much about them. Just go for what feels best in hand, and it seems Xuron, Tamiya, or GP nippers will all do the work you need well.
