1/72 Airfix P-39Q

Post by aur0ra145 »

Howdy,

Bought a cheap Airfix kit on a whim. I wanted to add a Russian airplane to my 1/72 collection so I went with this.

Build went quickly and lacked lots of detail. But the raised rivets were kind of cool. The decals looked to have been meant for a 1/48 kit. The tail decals were so large they wouldn't fit on the tail. I had to cut them to make them fit. The kill marks were also too large, but hey, the kit was only a couple of dollars. I also fogged the canopy, have no idea how as the super glue had been cured for a day.

Yeah, I'm also super pumped about how the decals came out over the rivets. ;)

Critiques and comments are welcome!
