Looking good but this is what I can't get my head around with armour builds, the fact that everything is built first, then paint is applied!

Just seems counter intuitive to me... :)

I have this kit and the Legend set to make, so I will be watching this build. The brass shovel stowage on the wing doesn't match that in the real photo posted above: It was metal brackets, not straps. In my attached photo there is also a bracket to hold the shovel blades, which isn't in the period photo. The attached photo is one I snapped a couple of months back of a Pinkie tucked away behind all the current kit at a certain military establishment I can't mention. Sadly I couldn't do a full walk-round of it. It is apparently fully original, apart from the cross-country tyres. Some of these wagons were later used by the SAS TA regiments painted green and black with cross-country tyres, and would have been used in Europe for reconnaissance, behind the lines raids etc. Like the original Italeri kit portrayed.

The real colour of Pinkies has always been a subject of debate. The people who own this one ought to know the correct colour! It has clearly been repainted but the pink is a lot less garish than a couple of preserved or replica Pinkies I remember seeing. But note here the paler shade under the open bonnet, very similar to the Tamiya box art colour and way off the new Italeri box art. I reckon this is still the original colour.

exception of pva and ca glue, but pieces like pe if knocked off can remove a large chunk of paint.
