Matchbox Vickers Wellesley 1:72 PK-123

Post by Johni044 »

Trying to bring my WIP projects up to date on this forum starting with this old one from Matchbox. I'm concentrating on bombers this year and having made a Heyford and Wellington earlier in the year this fits nicely between them.

Now the bad news, I bought it off E-Bay minus the box but suppose to be complete, well if you don8t count undercarrage legs, I.P. and control stick it is. The worst part though is the missing legs. So now making it to display on a stand (first time in 35 years), to say the U/C doors are a poor fit in the retracted position is a bit of an understatement. Still working on the crew but when they are finished it should come together quite quickly.

That's a bummer John, any chance that you can replace the missing bits?

Buyimg on ebay can be very much hit and miss.. I bought a 'complete' kit of a Heller Starfighter once.. it was only missing the instructions!!! :pistols: :bash: :violin: :wall:

Luckily the seller gave me a full refund, but let me keep the kit, and shortly afterwards I found another kit at a model show I attended, so I ended up with two kits.. which isn't a bad thing as you can build both a single- and a two-seat version of the Starfighter from that kit.. Now I can do both! :nena:

I'm sure your Wellesley will look just great when done.. :)
Hairbrush, not airbrush!!
