Global Scale Modeller

I first saw this kit on Coen's YouTube and then I watched Andy's Hobby HQ build one and I knew I had to get one. So I bought the 505 version for my birthday!



I can't wait to start on this kit and I hope I can post updates as I go. I might try shooting some videos, who knows.

I really like Takoms Box art....it's different. Tiger looks grand too.

OK! I finally started building this beast of a kit. One thing I want to point out right off the bat is something with the instructions. This literally made me laugh out loud!
So here's a picture of the first few steps. These instructions are amazing and very clear.


NOW, this picture is the very first page when you open the instruction book.


What is up with the hand-drawn pictures for the basic instructions?? Anyway, I just thought that was hilarious.

I worked on steps 1-4 tonight and I am already hooked. I had to make myself stop so i can get to sleep for work tomorrow, lol!





With Christmas coming up I probably wont get anymore done for a few days but thanks for looking! Stay tuned for more!

Finally got my MIG paint sets designed for this kit!

WOW, impressive! Good luck, it looks amazing and the colours are just what you need, good choice.

That paint set looks sweet! And the kit box art is one of the best I've ever seen. Can't wait to see more progress on that beast

So I tried out the paint and something weird is going on with it.


I even layed down some Ultimate primer on another spot and still got some fish-eye going on.


Any ideas?

Wash whole model in alcohol or some non fat soap. Dry it well. It should solve your problem.

i have also bought these kits and saw Andy's build.The zimmerit is slightly out of scale in places noticeably rear hull but overall pretty good.
the interior looks amazing.The colour of the paint doesn't look quite right for red primer - too orange.i hope it turns out well for you.Please let us know
all your thoughts about the kit.

What glue are you using ? - i thing Andy was using Tamiya extra thin

I will be washing everything before I proceed. Andy's videos (Coen's as well) is the reason I got the kit. I am using TET as well. I'm hoping its residue on the plastic and not a problem with the Ammo paint. These are the "exact" colors as called out by the kit so I know the colors are right. Might be my lighting.

Yep! Hot water and soap, get the job done. The oily film on the plastic can be incredibly annooying sometimes.
