Hi There,
New to this forum/site/group whatever the wider group is called. I got the heads up from a friend (Al) to come and have a wee look, and I like what I have seen so far. Allready seen a few inbox reviews and things like that online previously, but I had never taken my modelling hobby into the digital age before, so we will see if that can change.
I started modelling in my adult life when I was sat in room 406 of the Jurys Inn in Belfast for months on end with work (I work in the Marine industry and used to travel quite a bit) and needed to do something in the evenings other than go to the bar. There was a wee hobby shop not far from the hotel and I built an Airfix Westland Sea King (1/72) as my first model. All of the models built there had to be left on the ship, but they do still exist onboard!
Before that my modelling background was influenced by my uncle who was a fantastic tall ship modeller (all scratch built). He built some exquisite models considering he only ever built off a tea tray in the living room.
My main passion is 1/350 warships, and I am looking to do a mass build of these next year (yeah, we all start with grand plans!), so we will see where this takes us.
