Ardennes offensive is my very favourite period of WWII and I'd like to share my latest project with you:

Based on the famous pictures and video of Schwimmwagen from "Kampfgruppe Knittel" - 3. Kompanie Panzer-Aufklärungs-Abteilung 1, LSSAH, 18th december 1944, crossroad Kaiserbaracke on the road from St.Vith to Malmedy. The NCO is SS-Unterscharführer Ochsner, the driver is unknown.

The kit used is Tamiya Schwimmwagen, Eduard PE parts and DEF Model wide wheels. The figures are both Tamiya /very very bad quality/, heads are the best fitting found in my spare parts ;)
Inside will be stuff like SMG, rations, bottles, etc. - all from spare parts

Changes/upgrades I have made:
- replacing the tires with wide ones
- original tires are used as two extra "spare"
- upraged front axle with wire and scratch parts
- improved the inner bottom

Specific features based on the picture:
- shattered windscreen
- missing paddle
- shovel not in the clip
- right front light missing
- two extra wheels carried between exhaust and propeller in the back

I am still working on the road sign and have to print a map the driver will be holding and then it is time for painting ;)

This was the easy part, now for something completely different ;) - painting

Still wondering if the Schwimmwagen was only in Dunkelgelb or camouflaged...

Great job mate, I do like the more unusual looking models and this one is a little strange so I like it a lot, well done.

Thank you ;)

I painted 3 coulour camo and some details. The shiny look is because of glossy varnish - I will apply filter and wash, then some chipping and in the end matt varnish.

Schwimmwagen almost ready. I applied filter, wash, some fading and heavy chipping/wear. Finally I placed some rust on the exhaust.
I wanted to put a lot of mud and dirt on it /as seen in the original pictures/, but maybe I just leave it as it is and add only the crew and some "load"
