Had been wanting to try one of the newer tamiya 1/32 kits for a while after hearing nothing but good things about them and managed to snap one up on here a few months ago thanks to nige1940, it also came with what must be every item of aftermarket available for this kit, unfortunately I managed to start building before taking a pic of the box and aftermarket but it included resin for the cockpit, wheels, engine and wings, fabric seatbelts, metal landing gear, metal cannon barrels, dry transfers for the stencil data and canopy masks.

Cockpit is finished and ready to close up the fuselage halves, unfortunately the instrument panel decals didn't adhere properly and flaked off so the instrument panel was replaced with pre painted etch from eduard.

Finally got around to updating this thread and the engine compartment is now 90% finished just need to add the exhaust framing and paint the exhaust stubs.

Additionally the fuselage is together, as are the wings though at the minute I just can't bring myself to sand the seams and destroy all the fine surface detail, which I'm sure I will make a hash of trying to put back in.

Lastly all the smaller sub assemblies such as undercarriage, propeller etc. are built and in various stages of paint.

I am building this kit at the moment. It is a great bit of plastic. I like what you have done with it so far.
Only problems I have had with it have all been organic (me)!

Completely agree with you pretty much all of the problems that I've had have been my own fault, my only complaint so far has been with the exhaust stubs. Each exhaust is individually molded including the center seam that is supposed to be there and then tamiya go and stick a sprue gate slap bang in the middle of the seam.

Slow progress but a little bit more has been done, the engine bay is finished and is going to be left open once the model is completed thanks to a dog related mishap with two of the engine cowlings.

The propeller is also finished thanks to a little bit of improvisation with decals for the red disks after my first attempt to paint, decal and weather the prop went wrong. I knew there was a reason I kept all those decal sheets after finishing kits.

Beautiful work on the exhaust stubs. Are they resin or the kit originals?
:cheers2:

The exhausts are replacement resin, as mentioned above the kit parts are poorly laid out on the sprue and you end up destroying the molded in detail on the exhaust in order to clean them up.
