What is the hair spray technique

Hi all

What exactly is the hair spray technique all about.

It's a chipping technique, put basically you spray on a layer of hairspray between your primer/chipping colour and top coat then use water and a brush to reactivate the hairspray to allow the top coat to be removed as chips, plenty of vids on YouTube, Will Pattison has a lengthy and in depth one that explains everything in detail.

Good question, was going to ask the same one as I want to give it a try on my SAM6 build,does it work on rubber tracks ?
