Rye Field Models TIGER I

Merry Christmas to me! I don't know when I'll get to start it with the King Tiger already waiting in the wings, but I am excited to add this one to my stash! I'm scared to death of the tracks, LOL!

LOL! I have already watched your videos! I love your sense of humor with your "magic" assembly. I will definitely watch that particular video more than once during the build!

How did you stop the glue from seeping into the other parts of the tracks? I'm playing around with them and some of them are sticking together. I can still move them but they aren't as flexible as yours seem to be. I'm using the same glue as in your video.

Well, I just moved them and checked the articulation after each segment was glued. Maybe you're using too much glue?

I was able to start this model and here is what I have so far!
I also played with the tracks a bit and WTF was I thinking, LMAO!

OK, I was able to do more work to the turret and the hull.
I ran into a little issue with the drive sprockets. The instructions tell you to assemble the hub and the sprocket halves then combine the two. My sprockets will not engage the hubs.
Any ideas on where I went wrong?

I was able to "fix" my problem by building one of the extra sets of sprockets. I also think I will be adding the side skirts and rear exhaust shrouds even though the "Gruppe Fehrmann" Tigers didn't have these features.

Oh, I know that feeling... I still have mine unpainted and I don't want to even touch it every time I see the PE work. Too scared to break something after all that hard work

Thank you! I finished all the tool holders and put the grill covers on. Now I have to get the cables on and tied down!

So here's a LONG over-due update. I am finally back in the mood to build. I finished both tracks for this Tiger! I used to get overwhelmed just thinking about these tracks but I started assembling 5 at a time and before I knew it they were done! I will get some pictures uploaded this afternoon hopefully.

So here's my progress so far! Got a coat of primer on and started to add some dunkelgelb (Ammo).
Test fitting the tracks.

I'm pretty sure I messed up the road wheels on this one. The instructions aren't very clear but I still blame myself. I'm probably going to shelf this one for now.

I finally bit the bullet and decided to get this one done. I got the dunkelgelb down then realized I forgot the tools and cables!
I got some camo done also, but have yet to get pics.

I gotta say, I like how the colours look on this one. Probably not completely accurate to the scale but then who cares?

I sure as hell don't, LMAO!
Seriously though, I will be playing around with it some more and I'm sure a filter and a wash will tone things down some. At least I'm getting a little mojo back!
