I have had an up-cock on my model.
I sprayed Humbrol Clear matt onto a glossed finish after applying decals and this is what happened.
Can someone please advise how I can recover if at all?
I am new to airbrushing so chalk this up to experience.

Moisten a piece of kitchen roll and gently rub away the offending chalk

Thanks, I will try.
Didn't work very well. I have resorted to very light use of Ultimate sponge.
So as not to have this happen again I am wondering what went wrong. I am guessing I laid the coat on too heavy.

It is probably not anything to do with your airbrushing, Humbrol products are known to be very poor and unreliable. For matte coats, i use Alclad Klear Kote Matte:
It is easy to spray, just build up the layers slowly.
As you are new to airbrushing, i recommend watching Paul's video here:
As for recovering it, a Ultimate buffer and grey sander should remove it.

Many thanks Adam. I should have known better regarding Humbrol as I found their acrylics absolutely awful to use. I already had Humbrol matt clear and wanted to get on with this model to clear the decks for the next project.
Thanks for the links. I have been following Paul's videos they were what persuaded me to bite the bullet and go for airbrushing.
