Global Scale Modeller

Been itching to do this since i finished the carrera GT at the start of the year. When i built the GT i decided to paint it red in favour of the box colour of silver and i've regreted it ever since. Black was my first choice but just too difficult to keep clean while painting at that size. So, i'm gonna do the same thing again lol. Gonna paint it pearl white with red calliper's and black 'shelby' stripes ! I asked paul on one of the live shows what colour he was going to go for and he replied 'red' and for good reason as thats what my head is telling me but i have this overwhelming urge to paint it white, so white it is then

Having a quick sqint through the instructions i've spotted a small error with the part nbr's on the PE.
it calls for part 'A11' but 'A' fret doesnt seem to have nbr 11 but 'B' does and it looks very like the part needed. Hopefully there are no more or if there are i find them in time !

6hrs into this and i'm a bit dissapointed. This kit is not the usuall tamiya super clean and crisp moldings. The molding of the bottom of the engine block looks like a part from a cheap toy. I know it's not been painted yet but !

I'll post a picture of it but i dont know how well it'll show up.

They supply twn sets of the inner seat moldings, maybe you can make it a four seater if you take the engine out I pulled it's smaller brother out to get a size comparrison

The one thing i'm not looking forward to is cutting off the plastic bolts for the PE ones, there must be at least 100

Looking through the rest of the kit it seems it's just this part that is badly molded. It may have something to do with this car being originaly sold pre-built or semi assembled. Hope it looks better with paint on lol

I have been flat on my back for the best part of a month now with some mystery illness or virus or something so today was really the first day i was feeling kind of normal again so it was nice to get some modeling done again.

I did a bit on this engine earlier although i've managed to loose what was left on sprue 'L' which includes the rocker covers and other engind parts so i'll need to get them ordered up.

Thanks guys. I have to say i was getting a bit worried after the second week and not feeling any better but back to normal now thankfully ! I need to get moving with the stuka so this little gem will need to wait a month or so, but i am enjoying it although it's not as good a kit as the carrera GT was.

Off to a great stat John, looking forward to seeing how this comes together

Thank's paul I'm keeping my fingers and toe's crossed that they will do the la ferrari or even better the FXXK in this size.

I've ordered a PE brake set for this as there aint much in this department from the scale motorsport set.

Cheers Ken Theres plenty of scrap left on the template sheets for the interior so i thought i'd have a go on these first to see how the stuff went down. A coat of clear and the metal ferrari badge should bring it to life

Thanks paul. I just needed a break i guess. It was taking over my whole life for the last year or so and i was spending so much time on here everything else was suffering.

I would like to detail this Enzo as much as possible but apart from the two PE sets and interior carbon decals, i pretty much drew a blank, so, if anybody knows of any other detail stuff available please let me know.

I don't know of any more PE aftermarket for the Enzo
Randy is an absolutely amazing scratch builder and something I aspire towards.
He starts with PE and then scratches the rest...blows me away

Yeah, i can scratch build if i'm pushed but i'm just too lazy, i'd rather just buy the stuff lol

Thank you sir for the kind words. I have bought 6 sheets of C/F decal to attempt to do the whole chassir and tub. I know how tricky it can be to do the front fendor of a 1/12 scale bike like this so i might have bitten off more than i can chew........time will tell !

Hi paul hows it going .,? I will go into as much detail as possible with regards the C/F decaling no matter what results i get., good or bad. It'll be a learning process for me as well although i have tamiya C/F decals for the la ferrari so that will give me an idea of how many pieces for a certain area.

The two parts that are on the rocker covers were from the same stuff scott and they worked out really well. Plenty of set and sol though to get them to snuggle down

You may well of had a brittle sheet paul. I have two template sets for the 2001 and 2009 F1 ferraris and was thinking of doing one of those first as it's only a two week build. I think this big Enzo is gonna be a year + in the building.

Discovered another error with the scale motorsport P/E set. The Ferrari badges for the valve covers are too big. They are the same size as the larger badge that comes with the Enzo kit. I dont really know why they would include those with the set as the kit supplied ones are probably better and they're self adhesive.

It's taken 6 months to get this done.

The airbox doesnt get done till much further on in the build but i"m gonna do it next to see how i get on with the C/F decals as it's quite a complex shape. Fingers crossed.

Looks like i'm off today because of the rain so i'll spend the day trying the C/F decals out.
