Found this in a shop for $25 and had to build it. My best friend's dad sailed on her off Vietnam. He passed away a couple of years ago so I wanted to build it in his memory for my buddy. It's OOB stock except for the Phantom planes. They are Trumpeter and were very nice to work with. The Italeri kit was a more modern version with F14s and F18s. I left those off the deck. I'm not up to backdating and customizing just yet.

I´m a boat nut myself. Nice job on the carrier and the wee Phantoms.
