nice work bissy! how was the build? I've been close to trying an airfix ship kit a few times, but always imagined them to be typical 'old airfix'! lots of flash and soft on detail.

Thanks Chief! Appreciate that. It´s a typical Airfix kit with a good stock of flash and seams. Fillers are a must to bridge gaps. Poor on details and accuracy. More like a toy, than a proper boat kit. But it has all the charm and beauty you could ask for from an Airfix kit. I grew up with Airfix kits since I was a teenager, and I still enjoy building them, allthough high precision kits are more favourable. if you prefer more convenience.

A tight build and precise painting really improve this BASIC kit. Rigging also adds a lot of visual interest. Well done on the Suffolk.

Thank you so much for your appreciation Bill! Simplicity is the key sometimes. The colour scheme was inspired by the light cruiser SMS Dresden as she appeared in 1907.

Well all the more praise for your efforts on a 'not so good' kit, I like it more, the more I see it. A beautiful ship.

Thanks again! It was a fun journey. I think you do. I've seen your magnificent KGV. Wow! It was so amazing, it took my breath away. With your brilliant modelling skills you could easily turn pig's ears into a silk purse.

Very nice build mate, I built one of these back in the 70's as a kid didn't turn out this good though.

Thank you mate! But the 70s was a long time ago. I´m sure if you took another stab at it, it would be amazing. i like the simplistic Airfix boat kits. They leave so much more to your imagination.
