Dragon Cyber-hobby Tiger 1 re-releases Help

Post by keflin2612 »

Hi Folks,
I'm starting to collect Dragon, Cyber-hobby Tiger 1's I know some were re-released, like the Tiger 1 initial 6252. Out of the following list could some kind sole tell me which one's were re-released and how you can tell the difference.

2005 Dragon late 6253
2005 Cyber-hobby initial DAK 6286
2006 Cyber-hobby Michael Whittmann 6350
2007 Dragon Late 6406
2007 Dragon Alfred Kurzmaul 6416
2008 Cyber-hobby Fehrmann 6335
2008 Dragon Late 6383
2010 Dragon Initial 6600

I'm guessing the last one may still be in production but any help would be greatly received.
Thank you.

Kev.

The Cyber hobby white boxes are limited runs
So there are no re releases of those
The Orange box early production may get a second production run
The problem with Dragon is that a kit may have to wait for several years before they make it again
So i would pick them up when you see them
As for the DAK Tiger they released a new one last year so you may be ably to find on of those
On the bench
GB builds
1/35 Trumpeter M1132 ESV

Personal builds
1/35 Hobby Boss M1070 tractor with M1000 semi trailer and Meng M1A2 TUSK II Abrams
1/35 Takom V2 rocket with the Meillerwagen and SS100 tractor

Thanks for your answer, It's the original runs that I'm after, I got caught a few months ago " my own stupid fault" on a "Tiger 1 initial 6252" when it arrived I realised it was one of the re-runs, I knew it had been re-released but not in a box with the same box-art as the original and I just wondered how many more are out there like that from my list.

Well, as far a I know, 6252 and 6253 got a re-runs without the goodies, except PE grilles and with DS tracks. The problem with that is that you may or may not get broken guide horns because they come without cardboard sleeve like they did before. I find that their early ones are more susceptile to this than later ones (DS is kinda "fatter" on late's).
Cyberhobby white box Tigers will probably never got a re-run, also the ones with specific commander.
Newer 6383,6406 and 6600 comes without cardboard sleeve and Dragon card. I mean, all of Dragon kits comes without that nowadays, which is a shame.
My reccomendation is to ask a seller on Ebay what release is the kit you are trying to buy.
Rye Field Model Tigers are great buy, cheaper than Dragon and you get workable tracks and PE. They have DAK, Fehrmann, Mid and Early w/interior and Bergetiger, which can be build in generic Mid if I am not mistaken. Recommended.

Me too :wall: I guess the clue was in the price I paid for it because the original 6252 now sells for silly money (if you can find it).

I am lucky to have a couple of the oldies, but as far as I can tell there is nothing on the new boxes to distinguish from the original runs.
