Hey folks,
Could someone tell me please, when Dragon started to put DS tracks into their kits.
Cheers.
Kev.

In some cases almost a decade ago. They best thing to do is check on the kit you're interested in, either with reviews or the photos of the box art on
http://www.dragon-models.com/. If you start the kit with magic tracks it seems to keep them, it's only new releases that get the DS, they don't swap them out once production starts.

Well, fairly early. I think the first DS tracks were in Tiger kits. I dont know for sure, but if I have to guess I would say Tiger Late 6406 was the firt Dragon kit with DS tracks. Everything else had magic tracks back then. After 2012 Dragon started replacing MAgic tracks with DS, if I am not mistaken.
Hope it helps.

You also need to be careful with the newer Dragon releases that have DS tracks. The company have stopped boxing their tracks inside the main box so as a result the guide teeth on the tracks are easily squashed - rendering them virtually useless.

And not all the newer releases actually have ds it's a bit of a mixture.....you have to check
https://www.scalemates.com/kits/ to be sure of what your getting. Even some of the re-releases have ds substituted yet have same kit number.

they most probably did it to save money.the magic tracks on the older tiger 1 kits were inaccurate as they did not
have hollow guide horns.it may have been too expensive to remould these.anyway the older ds tracks were ok but to
put it politely the new recipe ds tracks are floppy, flashy, very hard to work with and quite frankly terrible.

Not totally true. I got a Dragon #6370 Panther G Steel Wheels version just a few months ago that was advertised everywhere as having Magic Tracks. It showed up with DS tracks. Major bummer, but it will be a good excuse to buy my first set of Fruils.

There are two versions....first manufactured with MG then they reissue it some time later with same kit number, but they change the parts. They have done the same with a number of kits.
