Yet One More Lysus' Lesson of the Day

If you have an entire day to yourself and loads of air brushing to do, you will find air bubbles in your cup.

Equally heinous is thinking your needle isn't quite sitting properly and is thus in need of a little push. Two seconds later, said airbrush is looking at you and asking, 'why have you just split my nozzle, you sausage fingered halfwit?
Replacement nozzle now on the way, wallet considerably lighter.

Sums it up mate. Gutted because I had set the cash aside for the Airfix 1/48 Battle of Britain Airfield set with the new tool Hurricane but the new nozzle pretty much wiped that out.
I'm normally very careful with my stuff because I value what I've got, that's what make it all the more annoying.

Update: Sorted. Although I did my due diligence and checked the nozzle for a crack, it was exactly as I suspected: the nozzle was full of crap. One of the downsides from not having time to really sit at the bench is the last time you used your brush you didn't clean it properly/did a rush job. Then it sits for weeks. A thorough soak in some thinner and good clean after fixed it right up.
My Iwatas are bullet proof, but they're not idiot proof.

Yeah. I have an Iwata which I love and an H&S. The Iwata certainly is a lot more forgiving.

The new nozzle is on its way, £15 well spent. In the meantime, thankfully, I can still use my 0.4 needle as I have a diorama base to prime.

Tonight we have a supplemental edition called
Scott's Lesson of the Night
When painting Tamiya white in your new house with dark maple flooring...please note the following.
Do NOT allow the paint dropper to fall off your bench and roll around on said floor splurging white Tamiya like a vomiting teenager.
Furthermore DO NOT grab this dropper by the bulb on retrieval and spray more white around.
It might also be prudent to avoid stepping in the paint with your slippers and then tracking it down the stairs to the mud room where you were trying to find the cleaning agents...leaving white blips all along the way
Now if you ARE stupid enough to do all this, thank god and donate to charity sometime if you did all this when your wife was out and you managed to clean up the evidence in time
Also if you have had a couple drinks, stick to E Bay surfing
Now back to your regular scheduled Lysus

Well that sounds like an adventure worthy of an 80s movie. After I spilled over half a bottle of Tamiya regular cement--on my HiAce chassis of course--I went out and bought a new one. That night I didn't tighten the cap. Does it still work? Probably.

Never keep a opened bottle of tet too close to where you are working...cause it will get knocked over and spill under all of the assembled kit melting it and your new cutting mat instantly....while one sits there thinking. WTF do I do now and quick !

In this case it was Tamiya regular cement. I think there must've been some melted plastic on the rim (from what I don't know, I'm pretty careful about cleaning jar rims) and it caught the lid as I lifted it. The whole bottle came up about two inches before dropping off and then tipped over.
Splish splash splosh.

I'v tipped these bottles twice now and I think I may have to make a holder so it has a larger base and blue tac it in...
