Thanks for the review ! I'm thinking of buying the book because I have an interest in using oils. Just started using them. I do mostly planes...do you think it still would be a good purchase ? with the techniques they showing...because it seems to be the basics of using oils...

It covers the basics of using oils and I'm sure once you have mastered the basics there probably isn't much more to it than choosing the right colours for different effects. I'm sure they will be doing an aircraft one at some point as this is vol 1 suggesting more on the way. If you were into afv then I would say get it, not sure of how useful it would be if your just doing aircraft.

I did not know about oils and such for weathering. I love learning new stuff. Awesome video. (missed this because I did not join ISM until April o f last year, lol) Cool book Si!

Ahh gotta wait until after work to watch this :wall:
I love Simon's videos, especially the book reviews
He has encouraged me to get a few books and showed a couple that I wanted but really didn't need before I bought them
