The ISM member "HamilkarBarkas" just posted is WIP on the Tiger 1/16th scale from hobby boss ... and I decided to do him some company !!

I'm trying to make a funny and relaxed build blog... so just relax and let the fun begin!!!




Getting the wheels ready!

So you want to know the true size of the tiger... well look at the AFV club 1/35 tiger !!!


Building the suspension is a tricky and painstaking job... but someone has to do it!!!





Making the barrel a two pieces part may need some extra work...

I put a cigaret pack near the jack so you can see the size of "the beast"


Just black primer with a metallic dry brush...

When I first applied primer on the lower hull i didn't use a painting mask... so I was taking Red-Brown buggers for days... This time I learned my lesson!!!! hihihihihihih!!!

Again i couldn't resist.... the 1/35is the size of the turret of the 1/16th ... hihihiihihhi!!!!

You are certainly faster than me Its so cool to have another fellow joining in, of course i will follow this with interest!
I bought some goodies for my kit, an aluminium barrel for example or a metal front machine gun. I think the kit is good but the lack of detail or some awkward constructions need some extra work or replacements.
You did an excellent job so far, i´m impressed by the rust effects and how nicely you brought the gun parts together, there is no seamline visible! Well done

The more the merrier.

Of course that's pretty much why I do anything. Haha.
So Germany, Portugal, and Canada so far... any others out there with one of these big buggers in their stash?

The rust set from lifecolor is really good to work with!!! The barrel ... well I'm not happy with the result ... will have to do more work on it!!!

Not that much actually An aluminium barrel from Hobby Fan, a metal front machine gun and antenna from Aber.
Apart from that i will make my own Zimmerit (the first time i attempt that), right now i intend to build the model as it is using only these few additions.

Just that zimmerit addition alone is one hell of an add on.
I can't wait to see it.

This thread is just way too heavy for me, Tiger heavy that is If I ever get a chance to acquire one of these beasts, I would love to do a cutaway version. This scale is just screaming, "I'm huge, I can handle so much detail." Love the builds, guys! Keep up the great work!

I think that would be an amazing project Russ. You'd also be scratch building until you die. Haha.
I'm not sure, but I don't think that there's an after market 1/16th Tiger I interior.
If there was... I couldn't even guess as to how much it costs.
Still... cool doesn't even begin to cover it.
What a project that would be!
