I thought this was going to be an unproductive weekend but decided I could at least get started on this.




I started by painting the seat flat black and painting some details including seatbelts using a cocktail stick. Then did some dry-brushing. I think it turned out OK for 1/72 scale.



I also painted the cockpit and used the supplied decals for the instrument panel. I had to cut it into tiny bits for it to fit properly but it worked really well. The kit decals are pretty poor, but hoping I get the hang of them as I go along.

The cockpit didn't want to be photographed, but I'll try again when there is better light!

This was the best photo I could get of the completed cockpit... It's just too small and enclosed! Had to put a silly filter on it just to see the details.

I've been wanting to get my hands on the 9-19 SMT kit, these new Trumpeter kits are very nice.

Fitted the top and bottom fuselage sections together today, along with the intakes. This kit goes together so easily so far, I can tell I'm going to enjoy it!



I love the side profile of the Fulcrum.

Sure looks good... Can't wait to see that baby finished!

Got a bit of building done today. Attached stabilisers and currently waiting for pva glue to set in the nose cone, then the airframe will be done! Things are fitting together pretty well, just a bit of putty needed here and there.

Got the Zvezda version so really interested to see this going together looks fairly similar in make up to the Zvezda one

Thanks guys. I've done some more work on it this afternoon, mostly removing parts from the sprue and tidying them up a bit. Not much that's worth a photograph unfortunately! Will hopefully be primed in the next week.

Started painting today using the colour call out on the instructions. This green is not right at all. When I looked at the pots of paint I knew it would be wrong. Any suggestions for what colour would work better? This was 80% Mr Hobby 325 and 20% 320.

In a moment of motivation I decided to come back to this and finish the base colours. I mixed the paint by eye using various greens and greys. I'm happy with it, and not too fussed about getting the exact colours anyway.




Still to do the nose and anti-glare.

looking good I just picked up this kit myself and have a Eduard Brassin cockpit coming in too for this kit.

Hi Pacheco. Thanks for your comment. The kit comes with two decal options - Russian or Hungarian. I chose to do the Russian option. It's the scheme for 120th GvIAP

Started applying decals at the weekend. The main ones are on, with stencils hopefully being finished this week.

Cheers Gary, I feel like I've not taken as much care on this as I could have, so I appreciate the compliment

Spent some time this evening weathering the underside using Mig Jimenez panel line wash. I love this stuff, not only is it great for the lines, it's also great for giving an overall dirty look.

This kit was supposed to be a quick mess-around, but I've actually found myself enjoying it more and more!

Made good progress this week so far! Finished weathering, flat-coated the whole thing and got the undercarriage on

I don't know the exact weight unfortunately - I just filled the nose cone with fishing shot and PVA glue. The glue adds a bit more weight so it would be hard to estimate how many grams. I'm more afraid of under-weighting it than over-weighting it, so I just put in as much as I can fit.

I got the 9.19 in the stash and I'm thinking about starting it soon. I cant find any aftermarket for it though
