I've just been perusing the net for display stands for aircraft built wheels up when I came across a really good idea which I shall nick and pass on to you lot. Apologies if I'm teaching you to suck eggs and you all know about this, but basically you get square brass rod of two different sizes so that one will slide inside the other. Glue (I would imagine epoxy resin would be needed for the strength) a short length of the larger brass rod inside the fuselage so that it's flush with the bottom, or any other place you might want to put it. Make yourself a posh wooden base and glue another small piece of the larger brass rod onto it. Then cut the smaller brass rod to whatever length you want and slide it into the larger brass rods at both ends and viola, instant stand. The beauty of using square brass rod is that the model won't swivel so you can mount it in any way you want, say in a steep bank or whatever, plus brass polishes up nice, and you can take it off the stand instantly for transport purposes.

It works an absolute treat as the English say. Mine is tight fitting round rods, but I like the idea of square ones though, will try it!!!
