Thanks guys !

This kit isn't as easy as a Trumpeter or Tamiya...

the Ejector pin marks that mare the Nice side of parts is driving me nuts !

They really need to perfect that stuff.... MENG won't be getting more of my money for a while !

Not sure if its FIT issues or bad engineering but I had to use a Big CLAMP to force the CAB onto the body and get
it to fit almost 99% and I hope the small gap will be fixable ?

lot and lots of parts... very draining !

but it should yeild a nice Bulldozer !

I saw the tracks and almost Fainted ! LOL each link is like 4 part plus a CAP ! God !

Love the Tinted Glass .. nice touch !

later guys !

I could be certifiable after going through this Chain

The Instructions are useless on how to start it and not getting stuck at
The end! You need to leave an open link at the start
So proceed carefully!

And I still have to add all the Tread plates!
Not having much fun but the results kind of
Boost the moral! Quite stunning !

Coen! In deed those doors and some widows do open! But I glued all mine shut! Lesser problems that way! (no temptations!)

As for the maintenance platforms, they are all molded in their Stored positions !
It ould not be hard to modify them for an IDF FRG or MRT doing some maintenance
On the Dozer.

After putting mine on as per the instructions I just realized my
US army pictures dozers don't have them installed ! Sh t! Another error in the instructions!
They do put the warning about A B C version now and then but not all the time....

Those platforms should have Been marked! For IDF only!

I have the tread Plates on one chain and it looks impressive! Took all afternoon!

Now I started the other track chain! Dreading that part!

:pop:

More pict. When I upload them later guys!!

To tell you the truth Coen! Right now I don't care too much!

The deep indentations pressed into the body panel marking the locations
Of those platforms would be hard to fill! And other body "shapes" modifications
Are necessary ! Which I just found out ! So! This shoud have been marketed as an IDF
Dozer alone!

:cheers2:

I'll paint it and get on with my life !
I just want to experiment with heavy dried up mud and rust ! and buff able Metalic pigments!
:scratch::

Norm how are you finding these tracks? Any chance you could take some pics of the parts for each link and how they link together? I haven't tried going back to the ones on my AUF1 yet, still f****ed off with them! lol.

The tracks were a pITa

I recorded myself assembling a full track only to find out the camera had stopped as soon as I started it!

Goof! :eeek:  :wtf:

All I had left was my audio track which doesn't help! You could close your eyes and imagine all you want it wouldn't help!

So I have 6 links left! And could do a small demo?
again! This time with a working camera and a second one for close ups?

I'll try work it out in the week end update?

I feel your pain brother! I went Cookoo after mine! I can only imagine other tracks by Meng!!!

All the best to you all!

I am past the point of no return and the Dozer blade awaits me!

Almost done assembling this beast !

Yeah, when I first got my kit I tried the track assembly as I have never done indy link stuff before, and did successfully get 3 links together without them falling apart, and staying flexible. So if I recall I think I had to give the inside face of the track pad part a quick sand to get a snugger fit.

Hello people !

Just leaving a quick comment to let you know that I have started painting... I had a Lull on this project...
I had to get away from all the EPM's which plague this kit !...

Just Pré-Shading all the panel edges in Flat Black then I'll build up the US MARINES sand colour !
I am thinking of using CATERPILAR YELLOW for some parts... to show new from factory replacements were put in but not
enough time to paint using C.A.R.C. paint ! which is extremely Toxic !
so most time... you see original or Depot colors in theatre !
but I have a few other little details to fix ... many part lines I procrastinated about .. and now.. Its crunch time and
Must address them before I paint !
in this case ! Mr. Disolver putty is my Friend !

you guys should buy some... its my fav. putty now a days !

as many of you will find out... Ejector Pin marks are present everywhere !
 i'm not looking forward to fix those last pesky little *****

:cheers2:

Will try to take some pictures and maybe a movie ! this week end ?
it will be like watching paint dry ! :wtf: :ooops: LOL

all the best to you all ! :cheers2:

Coen,

I hand painted the Dozer Blade using a silver paint from Citadel!
Then I buffed the silver using a green buffing pad to create streaks

Then I Airbrushed the Dozer blade and left some of that streaking peer thru
It's just one layer of many...to come.

I will redo it! since I sort of Fouled up... so I'll Have to paint some more silver...I guess?

Then I'll "seal" that coat with an "Enamel clear coat" in preparation for some "Hairspray"
technique.

Thanks for the kind words!

Are you going to be adding lots of dust effects or just some light weathering?

Norm it's a piece all on it's own.
I guess it's a good thing that it's a dozer eh? The blade is sorta the main feature.
I love it. It's absolutely excellent. I can't wait to see that in the final product.
