So. It would appear that in my impatience I used too much MicroSol on my decals. A week and a half later, the decals are still very soft and smear. What do I do? My next step is gloss coat before PLW. Should I spray the gloss coat or wait for the decals to dry?

This is my Stuka build and up until that point, it had been the best build I had ever done. Is there anything I can do to recover?

This is odd ! can you tell us the whole story !

Primer used, Paints used, clear coats used
and how much cure time in between ! and also your shop air condition ? hot , dry , humid ??

reason I asked is.. this is weird ! and its the first time I hear this !!!
and there might be a sub layer issue we don't know about ?

NEVER heard of this before, definitely wait until the decals dry. Try putting the model out in the sun or a warm place to speed things up.
I never thought it was possible to use too much micro sol...except to destroy a decal inadvertently.

Ok. Ultimate primer, Ammo paints, Pledge Floor Care clear coat, then decals with MicroSet in the water, covered by MicroSol, maybe 2 or 3 coats. Cure time between coats was several days. Bench is in the air conditioned basement at about 20-21C. Not too humid indoors. I am letting it sit and checking daily. Still tacky today.

Did you flood it with micro sol and leave a big pool of it there or blot it away with a brush or Q tip?

Other than the Ammo paint, I use everything you got on the list

I flooded it with MicroSol.... multiple times. Probably way too much. It seems to be drying, but very slowly.

I only, one time I might add, had this problem but that was with alclad aqua gloss and micro sol. It reacted somehow with the gloss coat under the decal and it stayed tacky.
I sort of sorted it with some tamiya x-20a on the decal and then going over with a hairdryer (carefully) until it was dry.
It didn't turn out perfect but after a gloss coat and some weathering I consider it a success.

Thank you. I have been out of town for a bit, but now that I have returned I will try this, if it hasn't finally dried.....
