hey guy's
my build for the fleet air arm sig is going to be a 1/48 scale eduard harrier. it's a special edition kit with resin and photo etch parts, and a special decal sheet. the harrier I will be modeling will be harrier gr.9 zd 406, Royal navy naval strike wing, Raf station Cottesmore, 2009. in 2009 the Royal navy celebrated a 100 years of Naval aviation. for that anniversary the tail was painted a three color design with fly navy 100 1909-2009. the harriers were retired soon after. a interesting note is that plane sits a 120 miles south of me. i'll think I will take a ride and see if I can spot it.
I will be doing a simple dio of the plane on the tarmac with a pilot standing beside it. for the build I have the kit, eduard photo etch upgrade kit, resin exhaust nozzles, remove before flight tags. I also have flying leathernecks canopy det cord, and a areo bonus pilot. should be a fun build ( I know nothing of British aviation and if i'm stepping in something please let me know). so thanks for following along

ps. that last photo was the ceremonial changing of the blade for a new build, and since it's 9.30 pm on the 31st I swear I won't star this until tomorrow. :nena:

hey guy's got started on this today, and have made a little progress. I sat down with the instructions and the photo etch details and added the changes into the instructions, so I won't miss a step.

also started on the photo etch in the cockpit, and some other small pits.

Looking good. I like the idea of marking up the instructions for PE...I'll do that in future!

I've just done this kit for the Winter GB.

Getting that nose to fit was a real challenge, I watch with interest how a more skilled modeller handles it
