This is a tip I got as a comment on one of my youtube updates from a subscriber (Epoxy Sniffer) when I'd said about losing a piece of the model I was working on at the time to the carpet monster.

Here was his tip.....

Have you tried putting an old sock over the end of the vaccum cleaner hose and hoovering the area? The sock will stop the part going in the hoover and if it picks it up it will be stuck to the sock. I have recovered many parts from the carpet monster using that trick

'What an excellent idea', I thought and immediately wondered why it had never occurred to me to try it....lol

Yeah you can do the same using a pair of tights, just wip of the pair you have on now lee and use them

No way am I laddering them....!!! Perish the thought young man.......

Plastic modellers the lot of them....PMSL

You can staple or screw one side of an old pillow case or large-ish towel to the outer edge of your desk, then drape the other end across your lap.
Something like a jewellers apron.
That way less parts actually make it to the carpet.
