hi all
follow along the journey, while I try not to make a fool of myself. in which I attempt to build Eduard's bf 109g-6 bunny fighter.
having serious case of no mojo for the last couple of weeks, it was decided I needed something fun. to build.

I hope this was the answer. I will admit i'm a sucker for this kind of stuff. I still have the mig-21 bunny fighter in the stash, if I ever get good enough to build it.


so the Eduard bunny fighter. you have to belong to the special club, which buying the kit gets you in, and a really cool t shirt.
so this kit is 1/48 and consists of two kits and a lot of aftermarket parts both photo-etch and resin, and special decals.



i will be building the bunny fighter version with a full resin cockpit with photo etch, and that fantastic paint job



so follow along and I will promise I can teach you how not to do things
so when I decided to start this, I checked to see if I needed to order any paint. ten colors needed for the exterior and I have all of them in stock I really think I have a hoarding problem with 17ml bottles.
so I cracked on with the cockpit and started to get the resin cut and glued together.

also got the first batch of parts primed with Ultimate black primer

so that's the start. I can't promise how it will come out but it will be entertaining. kind of a slow motion train wreck

well I got some stuff done. shot the cockpit with ak rlm 2, the color callout was for rlm 66. but as we know specifics from the bunny wars are highly debatable. and I thought the lighter gray looked better.

also got to work on some of the subassemblies



got a wash on the cockpit using migs black night panel wash and also did some detail painting


I used the kit's resin panel instead of the photo etch as I like the raised detail
so so far so good been thinking about the painting I think that's going to be a lot of fun

got the cockpit finished up, and installed in the plane. had a few fit problems. but got it in, but I think those fit issues will come back to haunt me later with the canopy. got wings on and worked on painting the small bits.

Looks like a real beauty of a kit and that cockpit looks gorgeous!

hey guys got most of the plane assembled. and a coat of Ultimate white primer sprayed. chose to shoot white because of the white, red, and yellow paint.
I have some seam work to do, and will show pics in the next day or so. also got some of the details painted. really ready to start the paint job that's going to be the fun stuff.

alright starting the paint. you know there's a lot of colors on this. I have a plan, granted a alcohol fueled plan, but a plan never less.
preshaded with Vallejo black and started shooting the colors. I see a week of masking and some painting in my future.
here's alook at the directions. and my plan for the paint.


so tomorrow i'll mask the blue and the yellow and shoot the bottom white

been plugging along sprayed insignia white on the bottom. masked the stripes and shot some rlm 23. looks pretty cool, tomorrow will start on the camo on the upper surfaces.

hey guys
been doing a lot of painting and a lot of masking. has not been a lot to see until now, got all of the masking off.



could not wait to do the mottling and jumped right on it.

used the Tamiya curvy tape, tried it once before with mixed results, this time was a lot better. mottling was kinda of crappy, but hopefully some of the weathering will hope to hide that.
can't wait to get some clear coat on and get on with the decals

thanks for following along. love the encouragement. alright got a couple of layers of clear coat sprayed on. I would like to touch on the subject of gloss coats. I am by know means a expert at any of this .a couple of 3 or 4 weeks ago I submitted a work in progress to the fri night live show ,in my description I said I was using future for the gloss coat. they was a bit of sniggering over that. I have been using future and alclad aqua gloss for the last couple of years, I can't see a difference. i'm I missing something? so anyway got the decals on today. will start detail painting tomorrow.

use whatever works for you, there is NO ONE CORRECT way. if these rivet counters think its "funny" that another modeller uses something different to them, then it just shows how narrow minded some idiots are.

at the end of the day, its your model, make it your way - and you don't have to watch a bunch of opinionated burks belittle your work

Very nice work!!! I really like that paint scheme. I've built a couple of Eduard jet kits (bicentennial phantoms, Danger Zone). They are cool. But they are a lot of work. The cockpit you've done is amazing too. Don't worry about rivet counters. 90% of rivet counting comes from people who are insecure in their own work anyway and what you've done here is fantastic. I look forward to seeing it finished!!!!

hey guy's after a long bought of no mojo and a general crankiness about everything I finally got her finished.
got the clear coat over the decals and did the detail painting.



followed that with a wash from ammo of mig black night, then a light chipping with ak true metal aluminium, with mig productions black smoke pigment for the exhaust, and ammo moist ground on the tires,


sprayed the model with rattle can model master flat lacquer.

thank's for sticking around this was a really fun build I really like that eduard does this type of model, sometimes this can get a little bit to serious
