Time to say hello!

Hello!

I've been joining in on the live show chat feeds and thought it was time to register here properly and say a few things about myself.

I took up the hobby again about a year ago and have totally got the bug. I found ISM through Paul's YT tutorials and found them to be very useful as a beginner getting back into the hobby. How things have changed since i glued myself to a tomcat when i was 12 !

Luckily, I have a lot more cash than i did when I was younger and must have spent at least a grand on modelling tools, paint ranges, airbrush, compressor etc.

I'm 40 and I grew up in Milton Keynes so I was used to seeing low flying F-111E most days. One day, one of the pilots was kind enough to fly over our school and do a fuel dump and burn, a sight and smell I will never forget!

Flying has always been a passion in our family and both my Grandad and Dad were in the RAF. My Dad was in 13 squadron and worked with Canberras. I used to go gliding near Brackley and my Dad owned a 1:1 scale Luscombe Silvaire 8 that we used to fly out of Cranfield until the Burns Day storm destroyed it! (google G-BRDJ for pics)

I now live up north just outside Sheffield and remarried in 2015. I have a new arrival due on Monday :S. As some of you may have noticed, I have a weird sense of humour, probably due to growing up in the 80s/90s with alternative comedy.

I will start uploading pictures and updates when i get time, but for now i have listed what I've got going on.

On the bench;
1/48 Airfix Canberra PR.9 with Eduard Big Ed kit - priming and sanding blemishes stage - building for my Dad
1/48 Kitech F-111E Upper Heyford Markings OOB - only as far as primed cockpit
1/72 Revell F-14D Super Tomcat OOB - cockpit completed and sealed, still sanding externals

Completed;
1/48 Tamiya MK1 Spitfire OOB - destroyed (was given to my Grandad as a gift, but didn't last long at the dementia unit)
1/72 Italeri Phantom F4-S OOB - on display

Stash;
1/72 Italeri A-10E

shelf of doom;
1/72 Airfix Lancaster Dambuster with Eduard PE internals - put on shelf when Grandad died, haven't the heart to carry on with this just yet

Apart from modelling, I also like to play Battlefield One on the Xbox with my brother and Dad (65 and still gaming!). If anyone fancies squadding up with some crazy old farts, send me a FR. GT: Gr33ny76

I think that mostly covers it, someone call me a taxi. :whistle:

Paul
