DO NOT PURCHASE from Chicago Airbrush!!!

Post by mincemeat »

I just want to give you all a warning to NOT BUY ANYTHING at Chicago Airbrush! I know a number of you have purchased items here in the past, myself included.

A couple of years back I purchased my Infinity CR+ after speaking with the team, asking questions, etc. I placed my order, it arrived and everything was fine and dandy.

Last month I placed an order for myself and another buddy to combine our shipping after their St. Patrick's day sale coupon arrived. I received an email a day later saying my FPC valves were out of stock and asked if I would like to have all my items ship at once, or to just send the moisture trap that was also on the order. I opted to wait for everything as it would only be "5-7 business days". It's been a month and a half now. No one answers the phone anymore, no one responds to emails from me or via PayPal.

I have escalated my dispute to a claim with PayPal. PayPal gave them two weeks to respond, one week has passed. Hopefully I'll see my $115 again. I don't understand why their website is still up and accepting orders, but it's thievery.

This isn't just me talking garbage, they are a rash on the Internet and Google: https://www.trustpilot.com/review/www.c ... supply.com

I don't like speaking ill of people or companies on the Internet, If I wouldn't say it to your face, I won't say it on the Internet. However, I feel so strongly in this case that I want everyone to carefully guard their money and not spend it at Chicago Airbrush.

I still wanted the FPC valves, so after some looking around I came across air-craft.net. I know the shop and Martin, have been highly recommended by the folks here, so I priced it out for shipping to the U.S. Turns out, it was a little bit cheaper. I may have to wait a bit longer for shipping, but I'm not in any particular hurry. My order shipped within 24 hours of placing the order. It's up to the mail system now.

Plus, air-craft.net looks a LOT different than Chicago Airbrush. https://www.trustpilot.com/review/air-craft.net. Martin just may have found a repeat customer outside of the UK.

Happy Modelling Everyone!

Not nice when firms don't communicate. Even a 'We're in dire straights at the moment, we may be going into receivership,' would at least be honest. You don't build a customer base by not communicating.

Sorry to hear that you are having problems
Thank you very much for the warning
I will remove them from my bookmarked retailers

The reviews do indicate they are having money issues, especially when their paint suppliers won't ship to the company and advise seek other retailers.
That is a wounded vessel going down to the bottom.
Sad, but they should just be honest and not accept new orders

I'm glad I was able to steer at least one person away!
