Had this delivered today.

But when I can get around to it I don't know as Mum has had a couple of falls, and at the moment she is my priority.

Nice haul! I have just started to build mine, no interior set. It does have a couple of issues so if you want a surprise free build I recommend you watch this vid (& part 2).

Yes the box for the interior surprised me at how large it was too!
And the all important references I'm using. Oldest top row and newest bottom row.

Not at the moment Sergio. As I'm a brush painter *shock, horror* I'll be using Humbrol and Lifecolour paints, as for weathering I may do it as a clean museum exhibit.

I managed to get some time to myself while Mum took a nap. Now a question I'm hoping to do it as a Befehlstiger, does anyone do the rear mounted aerial pot in either Resin or Plastic?
First to be installed are the bump stops.

Very nice build, looking forward to see this one progress! One question though, why did you choose the meng kit over the Takom one?

I put a whole list of sites I have found and decided were worth book marking.

I have both Takom and Meng. The Meng looks the more accurate to me!

Well got back from the hospital and decided to get back to the King Tiger (it was either that or go stir crazy).

Anyway I'm going to try to add a full crew to this one using conversions of the kit figures and these below (I'm probably biting off more than I chew, but will give it a go). The generator and aerial set will also come very handy for this build

Some small progress from some little bench work I get. You do realise this going to be a slow build right? lol Colours used were Humbrol 41 Ivory and Humbrol 133 which look about right for the Cremeweiss and Rotbraun primer.

And left and right side bins and fuel tanks.

More as and when.

She's out now as they needed the bed, but recovering well thank you!

As I was waiting for parts to dry for the hull/fighting compartment I started work on the turret.

Turret inner and outer shells.

And the fitting out begins.

I've got one of these with interior to build, Meng sent me mine for free as a thank you for some development ideas I did with them.

I haven't started mine yet, but am off work now for 6 weeks following a knee operation so might start it now.

Your build is looking good, definitely check out the YouTube link posted earlier, it sorts out the wonky running gear issue.

I'll follow this with interest

Some more done on the turret. I couldn't get on with the kit supplied PE racks for the spare periscopes and signalling flares so robbed some from my Takom Henschel King Tiger.

Hi Darren,
I'm sorry about your Mum I wouldn't want to lose my mum and she is 80 this year. Yet I know it is going to happen. The real sadness for you is losing her when your so young. It isn't of any help In know, but the pain will ease all you can do is take one day at a time and remember your mum would want you to get on with it. She will always be with you while you remember her. Stay close to your family and friends they will be an enormous help.

I'm 47 in around a Month's time so yes still quite young. But Cancer is not a forgiving disease sadly. And Mum was 68 so she was still quite young too! I have the Rye Field Panther the only thing I don't like are the Photo Etch hull support pieces. If Takom can do it in Plastic why can't Rye Field?
