Hello from Washington D.C.

Hi everybody. I stumbled over here on the recommendation of a fellow who said you host some great group builds. I'm a big group build aficionado, and look forward to participating.
A few words about myself. I live in the Washington DC area (actually in Maryland, a few km northwest of the city) with my wife, dog and cat. I'm one of those rare under-40 modelers, but only just barely anymore.
I've been building model tanks and aircraft since I was about 8 or 9 years old. Most often I build aircraft in 1/72 (more and more in 1/48 lately) and armor in 1/35. Though lately I've been falling in love with 1/32 scale for airplanes. If I had the space I would do make the leap, but I like having a large collection on display. Most of my kits are of World War II and Cold War subjects, but I stray on occasion.
I'm an archaeologist by day, and work in the cultural resources management business. I'm also a giant rock&roll nerd, and love playing music (guitar), going to shows, and collecting records. Other hobbies include indulging in fine and not so fine whiskeys, rock climbing, hiking, and reanimating the dead in my basement. Wait, what?
