Hello,
Just waving a hand to all. Thanks for the add. I'm a Husband and father, machinist/toolmaker for a major U.S. automobile manufacturer, and part time aerial advertising pilot. I enjoyed building models as a child, and have recently been getting back into into it after a very long hiatus. I think watching youtube videos has re-sparked my interest in the hobby. I've watched a lot of videos on modeling, by lots of different publishers and I like Paul's the best. I also enjoy the live shows very much and like seeing what everyone's working on. Keep up the good work!

Yeah, already checked the reg... . Interesting pic as it looks like it's being flown from the front, we usually fly them from the back seat in UK if there's only one on board.

Yeah, that's me flying from the front.
Here the J-3s are flown from the back seat solo, but the PA-18s are soloed from the front seat.

Thanks, I'm a big fan of the Saturn V as well.
Oh no! Now you started it.. Just kidding Frank. I grew up with that monster and loved every launch when I was a kid. (I think I made that 1/144th rocket like 3 times.) Loved the Shuttle as well and started a 1/72nd one a while ago (like many projects .. waitng for completion) but the Saturn 1B and 5 is still the most powerful 8 million pounds of thrust ever.. (the 5 anyways), powerhouse ever made. yea I even made a 1/100th Flying Rocket of it as well.
Have you built one or like rockets in general for modeling? What have you or want to build? I like everything really cars, planes, rockets, ships, I even have a couple a tanks looking for glue, now that I have time for them. I also like Scifi stuff and also doing that in a SIG (special interest group) on this forum. All fun stuff. (Hmm the Scifi one is about start next week, so if you like that, check it out)
But that aside, welcome to this forum and check out Pauls (With the Live crew) on Fridays at 7:30 UK time which is 2:30pm for me and I think 1:30 for you in Chicago on youtube?
I would even take the time off work for that vid. We even a few guys from australia that pop in at 4am in the morning.. (talk about peeps that love modling) but I just checked out that video and this forum a month ago, joined and even won something. Its not for that, but the joy of the hobby is addicting with these guys and all of them are outstading artists and what I learned in a month DOUBLED my ability as we speak. No really!, just Pauls reviews, tips, shows and all the others have tip videos as well, that made me look at this hobby in a completely new way, and the bottom line with them.. its for the fun of this hobby and they love to share. OK, ill stop now hehe. Check it out Frank. You'll be amazed.

Growing up in the 60s and 70s I was a big fan of the space program. My earliest memory is of the Apollo eight Mission and lo and behold this is what I see on Facebook today http://jeffreykluger.com/. Since then I watched every time there was coverage on a mission now on TV and of course my mother had a subscription to life magazine which is always full of pictures from the latest mission.
I've never built a plastic model rocket but I have launched model rockets. The Saturn five model is on my to do list. Any recommendations would be appreciated. The other problem for me is what to do with it once it's built.
I've mostly built airplanes and cars. Currently I'm working on a helicopter, KV-107 in 1/72 scale. It's a kit given to me as a gift around 15 years ago. It's taking me a long time because I don't have some of the tools I need or the dedicated work space to build. I'm building on a fold up table in my basement and I carry it upstairs to spray in my garage.
I've been watching a lot of shows since January. It's fun seeing what everybody's working on. I'm also getting ideas for my own bench. Mostly i'm impressed with how far the hobby has come.
Growing up in the 70s I was a big fan of the space program.

I loved the Apollo missions, I still think it's the most amazing thing humans have achieved and all without the modern computer as we know it and in most cases with nothing more than a slide rule.
I too remember the Airfix Space models, the Saturn V was huge
