Hello all,

Heres my build thread for the Tiger Models T-90MS

I Chose the MS version purely based on looks, with the extra armour plates and the extended turret I think its looks badass.

Proof its New in the box:

So my plan is to totally ignore the scheme that comes on the box as its from a 2011 expo and theres some really cool alternate schemes out there. I'm going to do the one seen above.

I'm going to see if there any references for it in actual desert conditions as I want to dusty it up and make it look used. If not i'll use creative license and copy a T-90A from the desert or something.

Really Looking forward to this kit, having examined the sprues, the casting looks amazing, I'll throw some photos of it up for you all in the next post.

I had my eye on one of these a while ago
Had to choose between thus one and the Meng T-72B3
I ended up with the Meng kit purely because it was cheaper and i know the quality i can expect
But this really looked intresting
But i never had a look at a Tiger models kit and i don't know how good they are
So i will be watching
Good luck with the build

Update number 1.

Got the lower hull done. As promised heres some photos for the details, I'll post more as I build the sections.

The active suspension, interesting build technique using heat to melt the pins and keep the brass linkages in place.

The bottom of the hull is so detailed its a shame it'll never get seen.

Image

The drive sprocket is one of the most detailed I've seen, really well moulded. Cool brass etch track guide disk too.

Next up is the tracks...

I might be here a while.

Hello all,

Its been a little while as I've been busy with work, but there has been progress and news.

The construction is complete. except for the tracks, which i'll get to in a little while but first, the good bits - pictures!

As you can see I'm a firm fan of sub-assemblies, which is a habit from building/painting the wargaming stuff. However I firmly believe in this case that trying to mask the splinter camo that I want to do with all the lumps and bumps will be hard enough without added components getting in the way.

Speaking of splinter camo, here are the reference pictures I will be using for scheme and weathering.

Desert weathering will be a test as I've never done anything like it before.

Now, onto news about the tracks, I've dumped the ones that come in the kit, they're ok, but adont flex that well and despite being multipart still feel and look like rubber band ones. So I bought a set for Friuls from Paul and will be burnishing and the building those, also for the first time.

Only 3 weeks to go, so busy few weekends ahead.
