Help with painting

Post by Suunsu »

Folks, I'm having a hell of a time with learning how to paint. I'f messed up two models, another kind of messes up and now I'm starting a 4th. The problem I'm having is in trying to paint things as I go along. I've started the Fw 190 F-8 from Revell in 1/32. Do you hand paint the small stuff, like j-stick, foot-peddles, seats and so forth. Do you make a lot of sub assemblies? Any help will be greatly appreciated. If there is anyone in the US that would not mind talking to me my email is (redacted)

Thanks...............Rich :scratch::

Hi,
some things like cockpits are done as a sub assembly and hand painted. Depends on how you like to build, some like to paint on the sprues and touch up later others paint after it is built. Sometimes the way a kit is produced or has to be built means some painting must be done at a early stage. Of course as you probably noticed glue will attack the paint so that has to be kept in mind.
Some links that may help from better modelers than me.
