Global Scale Modeller

Hello everyone,

I am excited to be getting back into building models. My dad signed me up for a model of the month club when I was a kid and I loved it. Unfortunately as I grew up I moved on to other hobbies but now that my son is showing an interest in building them I will be getting back to it as well.

My son is 12 and at this point he seems to be interested in military aircraft. I have gotten him some Revell level 2 models so far for him to start with.
Warthog A-10 and an Apache Helicopter. Me, well, I like my sifi. I have a couple Revell and Bandai Star Wars kits that I will be working on.

I have a couple questions that I will be putting up in their appropriate sections regarding types of paint for him to start with and me getting into airbrushing.

I would recommend Acrylic for a 12 years old, washes with water, not very toxic if handled properly and really. most of here use that media quite allot. IMHO

Airbushes?? Im not a pro at all but I have a dual action Paasche from many years ago but most good modelers here know what the state of the art is for these things. I would say a good 50-100 dollar dual is best for any beginner, again IMHO0... the O in that sentence meant "old" hehe!
