ISM Friday nights LIVE at the bench what have you been working on for Friday August 11th

Post by Kingdan »

"WHAT HAVE YOU BEEN WORKING ON THIS WEEK?" - A NEW SEGMENT OF FRIDAY NIGHT'S ISM LIVE "AT THE BENCH" SHOW!

* Open now until 1 hour before the show on Friday, August 11th*

** PLEASE read ALL of the rules below carefully! **

Hello everyone! This post is being created to give you, as a member of ISM, the opportunity to share what you have been working on during the week on the Friday night show. Please read the rules below in order to participate.

01). By participating in this thread, you are giving permission for the ISM live crew to share your work during the Youtube broadcast of the ISM Live "At the Bench" Friday show.

02). Please, only post your own work and not that of others.

03). Remember, post only one image per member each week. This will prevent prolific builders from dominating this segment and will prevent this part of the show from becoming too long.

04). Also, have only one project shown in the image per member each week. Again, this prevents prolific builders from dominating this segment and making this segment longer than it needs to be.

05). Along with your image, please include the following details: The name of the kit; the company that produces the kit; any aftermarket that you have added, along with the brands and colors of paint used (if applicable).

06). The deadline for entries each week will be between the time the post goes up until an hour before Friday's show. Entries made after the deadline will not be shown.

07). Remember: If you wish to have a project highlighted during the show, the image and information must be shared in this thread, not a separate post on the Facebook page!

08). There will be a posted thread similar to this one on the ISM Forums. PLEASE post your work only in ONE of these. This will prevent us from having to sort through duplicate posts on both sites.

After the the live crew shows what they have been working on during the week, participating member's images and details will then be shown. This is an opportunity for you as members to be directly involved with the show. We hope that you will participate no matter your level of experience. This will not be a critique of anyone's work.

We thank you in advance for allowing us the opportunity to showcase your models! - Lee Larholt, Paul Bretland, and the rest of the ISM moderators and live crew. :-)

In the last week I got the base colours done on my Revell 1/48 Eurofighter Typhoon for the Warring Weather GB.

The underside is Tamiya Acrylic XF-19 "Sky Grey"
Camo is Tamiya acrylic XF-52 "Flat Earth" and XF-61 "Dark Green"
The brown has some discolouration from the blu-tac I used for masking, but I'm told that will be gone when the clear coats go down.

Over the weekend I intend to paint the nose cone and other detail painting. Hopefully the engine nozzles too...

Still working on my Special Hobby 1/48 AJ 37 Viggen. Got most of the painting done, just have the underside and the black bits left. and then do some bleaching and post shading. All painting has been done using MR Paints Swedish air force colors over Ultimate black primer.

Having completely fluffed up the previous paint job, progress this week took a step back with the stripping of Tamiya paints and Ultimate Primer with Mr Color Leveling Thinner

1/35 Tamiya Tiger 1 from 1970. (almost as old as me!)

Starting base coast. Used Ultimate black primer followed by a coat of Vallejo German dark yellow primer.

Looking forward to starting to weathering this beast.

Airfix 1/48 Spitfire Mk Vb - this week I have painted the markings using masks I created with Tamiya masking sheet (I used the kit decals as templates for the shapes etc.).

This is my first attempt at it and although not perfect (for example the black lines on the wings are a little thick) I think the markings look much more natural than decals so I'm really happy with it. Unfortunately the photo doesn't show the effect very well

I used Tamiya paint and it now has a couple of coats of Aqua Gloss on ready for the remaining smaller decals

Yeah, we're gonna tear Seattle down. :thumb2:

With the horsey and Raiden done I've started my own Summer Sci-Fi entry, the 1/48 Hasegawa VF-1S Strike Valkyrie. Not a lot to look at yet, but cockpit is assembled, and most of the main fuselage is put together with a bit of PE going in as I go. Spent 30 minutes with my nose in the carpet looking for a part the jumped from my tweezers and managed to fly across the room. It's a fun kit so far though the mold is clearly a bit long in the tooth (some flash here and there, some fit issues). Hopefully I can have something more interesting to look at by next Friday.

Finally back to my 1:25 Revelle '41 Chevy Pickup while waiting for the next round of GBs to start. Paints are mostly Tamiya with an AquaGloss clear coat. Truck bed, stakes and steering wheel are simulated wood using oils and a Tamiya Clear Yellow and Red mix for a varnish effect. A little bit of scratch building for the wiring harness, fuel line and radiator hoses. Been a fun build and a nice break from all the WWII aircraft I've been building. Still lots of final assembly and details to add.

Hey Guys!

There's not much interesting stuff on the bench right now, most of the action is around it

I'm building a new spraybooth with some storage facilities as well.

Image

It's pointless to try to build any model until the most "dusty" jobs have been done, so my WIPs are placed in sealed boxes. I hope to be finished next weekend - so I can get back to modelling again :thumb2:

Howdy all!

Just starting a Revell 1:2700 Imperial Star Destroyer. This thing is enormous! So far kit is going together really well. If you're a Star Wars lover and have a place to store it; I highly recommend it from what I've seen so far.
