tims desk Guillows S4C Scout

Post by Timplastic »

So I saw Paul Bretland building a guillows kit for his sons bedroom. The idea sounded great. I asked my boy if he would like one and the answer was a very large YES !!!

So I went hunting on eBay and found the Guillows S4C Scout for a very cheap price so grabbed it with both hands

It Was rather daunting when you first open the box to find just a load of strip's of wood. Luckily this kit was laser cut so required nearly no cutting to remove parts. The build was as the same with most balsa plane kits. I chose to leave the main fuselage and one of the wings exposed so the constructions could be seen. The top wing and rear tail where covered. This was quite an experience as using the shrinking dope on the tissue really twisted the tail parts, but hey it wasn't ever going to fly.
So here is a few shots of the build up process

So this is it all finished and ready for hanging
I have also got the triple wing red barron that will be chasing the scout down in the bed room. There will be a lot more photos of that build ImageIMG_3184 by tim ivatts, on FlickrImageIMG_3185 by tim ivatts, on Flickr
