Kinetic Grumman S-2 Tracker

This is the other FIL build. He piloted this aircraft in his years with the Navy. I started this one while I wait for the HU-16's replacement canopy to come in from Trumpy.

This kit is starting off with a whimper instead of a bang. First two parts are buggered. I have a message into Kinetic, let's see how that goes. (I have some really bad luck with canopies)Image

The instrument panel has no decals so the first thing I did was a dry brush. This is the first time I did a dry brush. I am beyond impressed with how simple this technique is to use. I used a dry brush paint from Citadel (Necron Compound) and a brush from Vallejo specific to this purpose. I guess that might be cheating, but with my skill level I will take any cheat I can get.

The fit here isn't the best. I had to wedge a knife under one of the parts to help it stay in place for the cement to dry.
