This will be a quick build: OTB, brush painting and spray can paints.









On with the build, two halves held together with tape then glued on the inside with tube glue and liquid glue on the outside.


Bow deck and stern deck removed and step cleaned up.




Stern deck.


Clean up next deck section.

Remove and clean up screw covers.

Clean ship deck sides.

Glue deck on.

On with the build, next on is the main deck after sanding and general cleaning up.

Lots of tape.

Looks like a twisted hull somewhere.

Small gap.

Plastic Weld used to glue the hull.

Main bridge cleaned up ready for fixing.

Bridge on, showing up-twist in the hull.

Here is my plastic card.

Small strip of plastic.

And in.

Screw covers on and gaps to fill.



Superstructure removed and cleaned.


Screw covers sanded.

With the superstructure glued on it is time to paint.


Everything is sprayed with the Halfords paint, done outside.


Flash on some of the parts.

Remove with the edge of a blade.

Screws removed and cleaned ready for paint.

Tamiya paint for masts.

Then I mix two Humbrol paints to make a waterline paint.


The waterline masked and several coats of paint were applied.

By brush.


Untill we have the right coverage.
Then I remove the tape.



The funnels are painted in the kit call-out colour.

The deck is brush painted deck tan.

Life boats flag poles and masts added.
The model was given several coats of Johnsons Klere.
Once dry the decals are added.
DONE






SO MY FIRST SHIP DONE...........BUT I WANTED IT TO BE DIFFERENT!
THIS NEVER HAPPENED.

Looking at this brought back so many memories of building Airfix's 1:600 ships

Great job, I've seen this kit and thought about getting it and doing the colour scheme you chose, it looks great (even with the funky red cross )
