Question about Vallejo air paints

Post by Art »

Hopefully someone can help me. I have been running into a problem with Vallejo paints. They seem to dry really quick (I use retarder) which makes spray painting a pain. I love their colors but I run into my spray gun clogging at times especially when I want to spray thin lines.
I guess I am doing something wrong but I don't know wat exactly. I tried different muzzles, pressure etc. and keep running into the same problem. A spraypaint gun where no paint comes out...

Anybody recognize this of have tips for me (I don't have this problem with Tamiya, Mig or AK paints)

Thanks beforehand

I had and still get this issue using Mig Ammo and strangely mostly with a H&S Evolution CR Plus. My far cheaper Sparmax Max 4 is hardly ever effected which is annoying seeing as the later cost 3 times as much!

I found using flow improver works very well :th:

I think it's to some extent a characteristic of real acrylic paint.

I'll try the flow improver. Thank you!

Depends a little on what I want to do but I normally use between 16-24 but even with a high pressure it seems to clog at times...
