Airfix Mk1. Female 1/76

Noticed this one at my LMS last year. I had previously built the Mk1 male, and this is the same kit with an extra sprue for the four machine guns used by this model.

Painting begins
First a coat of Vallejo Primer, in this case in Earth Green.

The entire tank is then given a coat of Tamiya XF57 Buff thinned with Ultimate Thinner.

The two camouflage colors were then airbrushed on freehand.
First camouflage coat is XF68 Nato Brown, mixed with just a touch of XF59 Desert Yellow to lighten it up, I forgot to get a picture of this step.

Second coat is XF51 Khaki drab.

Created a base out of air dry clay for it. One thing I should have done was seal the wood before putting the clay on. The clay lifted and crack in one corner. I was able to fix that.

Posts for barb wire was done using toothpicks. The barbed wire is 2 strands of beading wire twisted together in a drill and then wound around a tool handle. I may do a separate video/post on this process.

The base was painted a base coat of craft paint and then various weathering materials were applied to it and the tank.

Not a bad result and more lessons learned.
