Armourfast 1/72 JagdPanther

Post by Quax »

How could we have a cat themed GB without a Jagdpanther...?
I've never built a 1/72 armour kit before and actually this was fun and probably good for a beginner. Its not the worlds most accurate JP and seems to have been developed with a pe set in mind as there are slots for lifting hooks and periscope covers.

Wow that came together quick - I've looked at the armourfast kits before but not taken the plunge.

It was 1/72 (1/76) armour that got me back into building again so I've still got a soft spot for the scale.
Cheers, Neil

I think its about 14 parts and half of them are clip together, looks ok though and did make me wonder about the dragon 1/72 tanks although the jack on the 1/72nd tiger will be made of 10 parts of up to a micron in size....
cheers

So the miniJagd…
This was Mission Paints Dunkelgelb 44, I wasted a lot of time this weekend with MMP, what I thought was going to be a simple process actually turns out to be not quite. What I will say about them is that they self level beautifully (as I discovered when I sneezed spraying the Tigger 1) [I think it was the paint that self levelled and not another projectile…..] :shifty:

Following liberal applications of Panzer Putty I then added AK Olivegrun I then took all the PP off and added it again followed by AK chocolate brown. Once this was dry I gave it a coat of Tri camouflage filter

As the observant amongst you will notice tracks have appeared. The tracks themselves are done in Vallejo Old Rust and the mud effect is [I’m sneakily doing this at work and don’t have it to hand so the cretin typing this will edit it later. Yes you boy!]

I then gave it a quick brush with 501 Tri Cam fade. It’s a bit more fadey in real life, believe me please please….

It now needs a quick gloss, decal, wash and brushup but as Hammy Hamster used to say…. “That’s another story “

That looks really good especially in 1/72 mate - and I guess I just found the answer to the question I left on the Tiger thread!
